The Battle Grounds Observer

Hello and welcome to another look at some of the custom maps provided by the community.  I wouldn't call this a review as unfortunately I have never played these maps properly with people. bg_forestroad_b3 Author: QwErTy Released: Unknown Forum: http://forums.bgmod.com//index.php?showtopic=5932 Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4PJ4WLW2 Despite the name this is not a remake of the BG1 map bg_forestroad.  But it is a forest with a road in it.  Essentially it is a horseshoe map, where the two teams spawn pretty much next to each other but are blocked off by scenery. It does follow the horseshoe format but actually it has a lot more room to manoeuvre than you would think due to having access to the reasonably large forest area in the middle of the map, which contains a flag surrounded by dead British soldiers as you can see above. UPDATE An anonymous reader has kindly emailed a list of authors for certain maps, still a few we are uncertain of though.  If anyone knows please drop us an email (See "Got a Story?" page). 10. bg_pirate_boats3 Coming in at a respectable 10th place is this chaotic map, which demonstrates why vehicles and Half Life 2 don't mix.  No objectives, just jump on a boat, try to control it, fall off then repeat.  Even so this map can provide a whole lot of fun.
