The Linebattle Championship is approaching and BG2 Development

At the Observer we have received an update on the progress of the LBC.  The site is near completion and the organisers are looking to sign up clans to participate so rules can be discussed.  So if you're in a linebattle clan tell your leader, or if you are a leader sign up here.

Also in the Observer's hiatus development on BG2 seems to have increased in pace.  Screenshots of two new maps, bg_trenton and bg_township, have been posted to moddb.  Of course as some may know, bg_township isn't exactly a new map as it had featured in previous releases of BG2 years ago.

There has also been a lot of discussion on the future of BG2 on the forums.  Don't panic, we're not talking about whether there is a future, but where the mod will be going in the future.  This was all sparked of by a new user reviving this two month old thread.

There has been a lot of change in the BGU, the reigning champions Be Blue! are going inactive leaving Alpina and TRR to fight over their crown.  AP are returning with a Euro team under the leadership of Jack Sparrow, so you better watch your flags!  Swarth's attempt at a skirmish team, Bukkake Buffet, has crumbled and he has returned to the 47th after their skirmish breakdown.  There has been more BGU comings and goings, but most aren't really worth reporting.

Now some of you may think that the NA skirmish scene is dead.  You would have been right a week ago, but with the formation of "Spirit of 76" and the resurrection of AP, there may be a glimmer of light.  While that would bring the number of active teams to three, with the inclusion of the forever present SS, it is still a massive improvement over what was there just a week or two ago.

That about rounds up this article.  Until next time.
